Dan Smith is a saxophonist, pianist and composer based in Hertfordshire. Initially inspired by the sounds of jazz musicians such as Charlie Parker, Stan Getz and Oscar Peterson, he has been performing and writing music since the age of 15. Having achieved a First class Bachelors degree in jazz from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama he went on to study at the Royal Academy of Music (MA) further developing his musical skills and enriching his compositional technique where he achieved a distinction.
He is bandleader of the Échappée trio, a jazz trio regularly performing across the UK/EU.
As a pianist, Dan continues to write, record and release his own music independently and is currently recording and playing live for singer/songwriter Hannah Grace.
